There’s a lot of health information being shared and promoted to help you get healthy.

Instead of making it more confusing and overwhelming for you, I want to give you simple tools for feeling healthier, happier, and vibrant in the long run.

If you focus on doing a few simple things better in these 5 areas, you’ll be making a real difference in your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health:

  • Eating and drinking nutritiously

  • Supporting your skin

  • Minding your mind and spirit

  • Moving and exercising

  • Planning your day & life purposefully

I know you’re busy and adding more to your life isn’t going to help you, so while I could give you an exhaustive and expansive list, I’m not going to.

These tools and resources I want to share for each of these 5 areas will not take time away from your life, in fact, they are meant to give you more freedom, peace, and health.

 

EAT & DRINK NUTRITIOUSLY

You already know that you should eat more leafy greens, vegetables, and low-sugar fruits daily.  Right?!

You’re busy so there are going to be days when you might not eat the highest quality, nutrient-dense foods or have access to cooking or buying whole foods from the market. This is when it’s important to supplement so you can still get the essential nutrients your body needs to be at its optimal.

Here are the supplements I’d recommend and suggest:

  • Probiotics* –  for optimal digestive and immune health
  • Plant Protein Powder – perfect for adding to your smoothie for a power breakfast!
  • Greens Blend – get a serving of organic greens and grasses when you can get ’em fresh. All you have to do is mix with water. This blend even has certified organic medicinal mushrooms!
  • You can also add in a multi-vitamin, omega-3 fish oil, and a minerals and anti-oxidant drink to your nutritional regime.

SUPPORT YOUR SKIN

Drink lots of H20 all day for that youthful glow. You’ll also banish dark circles and improve the health of your largest organ, your skin. You can track how much water you’re drinking daily using the Waterlogged App.

Supplement with Omega-3 Fish Oils for clearer, hydrated skin.  Omega-3 Fish Oils give your skin plenty of rich, beautifying benefits from the inside out.

Use cleaner, more beneficial skin and beauty products (these are the ones I use).  It doesn’t take but 30 seconds for your skin to absorb the toxins you might be putting on it, so ditch the products with toxins that wreck havoc on your long-term health:

talc | tallow | carbon black | animal products or by-products | parabens | formaldehyde-donating preservatives | phthalates | formaldehyde | alkylphenols | benzene | monoethanolamine | triclosan | synthetic dyes | hydroquinone | artificial colors  | mineral oil

Remember, your skin cells are the last place to receive nourishment and so of course, they are the first place we will see signs of cellular aging, breakdown or disruption. Eek!

 

MIND YOUR MIND

Meditation does wonders for your mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health. It reduces anxiety and blood pressure, and increases your focus, clarity, and intuition.  All you need is 2 minutes and a place to sit undistracted. Sitting up straight in a comfortable yet supported position on a chair, yoga mat, or floor with your hands on your knees, close your eyes while focusing on your breathe. You can focus your mind on repeating a simple mantra like “I love and accept myself” or “I am ____[fill in the blank with positive uplifting word].

If you’ve never meditated or want extra help, download the Headspace App on your smartphone or iPad/tablet.  For ten easy minutes, you are guided by a guy with a calming British accent through a meditation that makes it all so easy and doable, at home, on your commute (if you’re not driving), or at the office.

Ahhhhhh. 

 

MOVE YOUR BODY

Make this one ultra simple if you don’t exercise already.  You don’t need a gym, equipment, or special attire.

Get resourceful!  Where can you take the stairs instead of the elevator?  When can go opt to walk or ride a bike with a friend, colleague or family member? Can you stand up from your desk every 45-60 minutes and stretch?  Can you dance while brushing your teeth?

Want to exercise more but don’t belong to a gym?  Get ClassPass to try out different gyms and types of exercise forms from Zumba, Boxing, Martial Arts, Yoga and Pilates in your city at a low monthly cost.

Make a date with a friend to try out a new class together!

 

PLAN YOUR DAY ON PURPOSE

If you’re days are too idle, fragmented or overwhelming, then do yourself a favor and start calendaring your activities and to-dos.  When you do this, your energy will be well spent on your priorities and living your purpose. It will become easy to say no to those events or things that are draining and yes to those are aligned with your goals.

TODAY, DID I….?

drink plenty of h20
